Why is it the church's fault that you fell?

Did you work for your church or someone else?

Why not sue your employer?

If you get hurt on the job, you get paid out by workers' compensation, not by the employer's business insurance, regardless of whether it is a church or not. If someone got hurt on church property and was not a worker, they could sue the church directly under negligence laws. Basically, workers' compensation was created so that workers could get compensated quickly and without having to sue, and thereby get around negligence laws.

If you were injured on the job you have a workers comp claim. If your comp carrier is not paying get a workers comp attorney to pursue the claim.

Churches do not have immunity from suit. But they, like everyone else cannot be sued unless they cause the injury. Your workers comp attorney will tell you if they have any additional liability.

That's in the hands of the company you work for, not the church. I'd bet good money that you signed a statement that removes any liability from the church to begin with. Your best bet is to get a lawer who can discuss your rights with you and clarify this whole situation.

YES GET YOURSELF A GOOD LAWYER. WHO TOLD YOU YOU CAN'T SUE THEM??? IF IT WAS THE CHURCH GET A LAWYER....

THESE CHURCHES ARE REDICULOUS. THEY ARE IMMUNE FROM ANYTHING COSTING THEM MONEY.

I USED TO TEACH RELIGION FOR TWO YEARS AT ST KILLIAN, BUT THEN I REALIZED HOW GREEDY THEY ARE.
NEEDLESS TO SAY, I QUIT AND DONT GO TO CHURCH THERE ANYMORE.

THEY HAD THE NERVE TO SEND OUT LETTERS TO ALL THE PARISHNERS FOR A REQUEST TO DONATE 2000.00 SO THE PRIEST WHO WAS RETIRING COULD GET A NEW CAR. NOW THAT IS NERVE!!!!

GET A LAWYER!!!!!! IF THEY THINK YOU HAVE A CASE THEN THEY WONT TAKE ANY MONEY FROM YOU UNTIL THE CASE GOES TO COURT.

GOOD LUCK.

You probably want to see a lawyer.

I've never heard that you can't sue a church. What's your source of information here?

Also....have you contacted the church? Maybe they'd be willing to just pay your medical bills?

Would you want to sue GOD? I know I wouldn't. It's not a christian thing to sue people.
