but really I think it's because stupid TV deserves stupid viewers.
And you gotta remember that out of the 300 million people who live in the United States, only a small percentage actually watch the shows you are talking about.
Only 31 million people (out of 300 million, or 10%) watch the #1 show, American Idol. And for Wife Swap, which you mentioned, only 8 million (less than 3% of the people in the USA) watch it.
Yea they are stupid shows, but most people don't watch them! Whew!

People watch shows like that to be entertained, What do you suggest people watch...the news, watching the news all day can be tiring and depressing....Stop taking stuff so seriously
