I don't mean like head turned all the way around/cat-calling . . . but 2-3 seconds and maybe even at their cleav or something. I think it makes them uncomfortable, but what should I do? Just pretend they aren't here?

It seems like they get annoyed -- like 90% of them. And sometimes I say "hi" and they always ignore me. But they are usually passing by, going the opposite direction on busy NYC streets

I wish I can change me "Best Answer" because I think I agree with some of the later entries. Women don't take to it.

What is the point of NYC then? I might as well go back to the "burbs" where after work I just drive home and see nothing but fat hick women.

If you are trying to bother random people on the streets then unless you are drop dead handsome you are going to be ignored. You can do pickup on the street but it isn't as productive as going to a place where people express interest in their hobbies (book club, cycling/skating, clothing store, you get the idea). (Plus those people are probably preoccupied with what to do on ther head)

Men are to be direct and take the risk of rejection. Women are to give the cute little glances. Good men will only give those, Yummy looks, when they have rapport with the women - this is classy and pleasurable when both (man & women) already acknowledge their attraction. Ah, well, usually this brings out passion, and well, can't say more here.

If he's sleazy, dirty, and smells like trash then my mind races on "GET AWAY" --- even with guys who look professional are creepy (Remember Ted Bundy?) and I look for people nearby to help ... oh, why can't I remember that kick-boxing move (is it jab-cross jab-jab kick) ... ah, what did I do with the mase. Am I really that ugly that Trash off the street is making cat calls at me? Nope, cute here ... he's the ugly one ... why don't people have any self-respect??? Ah, mental note, never wear minis again (unless with that someone special). Do Muslim women really have it going on with hiding? Na, too extreem ... JERK ruined my day.

It depends who's looking and where it happened.
If I am at the night club and some one looking at me with lust, I can forgive him, hey, I might even like it if his cute. I usually dress to kill at dancing.
Anywhere else, I would not appreciate any one show more interest on my body part then me in person. So, I don't advertise my body too much in a way I dress, and if he still try to look, then
I labeled him a jerk.

People used to tell me I was stuck-up because my life
experience taught me to mind my BIZ. So I've tried to learn
to be more friendly. And you know what dude? People are
seriously messed up.
One person gets mad if you look at them, and the next one gets mad if you don't.
You got to feel everybody out, and that can be a pain. But I've read womens magazines to get in their heads. And most
women don't like for a guy to just stare.
Too many DOGGS thinking they are turning them on, giving women their SUPER SEXUAL LOVER LOOK, like they gonna eat a woman up!
A woman wants a man to acknowledge her somehow.
Smile, say hi. Don't try to feel them out too much. If they're having a bad day. Don't make it personal.

i don't have a problem with it. what's wrong with looking anyways? as long as you don't stare too long (it would be rude), then i think it's ok. i think when guys look it flatters some women. there are some women that gets offended thou but i think it should be ok as long as you don't stare at it too long.
