He sounds like a xenophobist, ignorant prick and please believe me when I say that your knowledge of grammar is far greater than the majority of Brits.
You've shown your superiority by your actions which speak louder than words. Only wish he were smart enough to see this.
He actually mentally abused you and you did the right thing walking a way from a man who likes to intimidate women ,or any person, to make himself feel superior.
His loss. He will live a life of narrow superficial experiences.

Ignorance is no excuse, but to be honest a lot of people are ignorant about different cultures, religions etc so therefore only pass on what they have heard from others. also you are sensitive to this and may have jumped the gun when he was asking if you understood him, he may have been new at all this and talking to someone of a different origin can make us a behave a bit like we are a teacher and you are a 3 year old student.again ignorance, his out burst at the end was a self protect response all be it not a nice one. the only way to stop events like this occurring is to educate people. You want them to understand your culture as we want you to understand ours, so perhaps like you, if more of us took the time to actually learn rather than just judge or go with the flock, so to speak then communication would be so much better. like everything communication is the key.

You're English is a LOT better than my Croatian!
Don't engage in conversations with idiots like that person from the UK. Life is too short to spend time talking to dolts who haven't matured beyond toddler stage.
If you find yourself in discussion with a nutcase, just say, "This is going nowhere. I'm ending this conversation now" and REFUSE to say another word, regardless of how they try to trick you into saying something bad or angry.
There are plenty of mature, interesting people from the UK (I've met a few) and I hope you forget about that silly, ignorant dork soon.

Men do not "make" you feel insecure. The insecurity is already there--they just bring it out. You don't have to take that kind of treatment and I wouldn't waste anymore time with him. If he talks to you and treats you like this now while you're "friends" what would it be like if it got more serious? You are not stupid and it sounds like he thinks you are. Do you want that kind of treatment?

To consider someone stupid because of their country of birth is ignorant.
Actually I can forgive stupidity because it is genetic. I will never forgive ignorance because it's choice.
Walk away secure in the knowledge that he is not even worthy of your contempt.
BTW your english is better than some Brits who post here.

He is the one with an insecurity complex so he has to blame it on others to make himself feel better about his shortcommings.
Don't waste your time or emotion on this guy.
