Disadvantages

Some of the disadvantages are :
1- A bad effects - on the kids - becouse they learn every bad thing shows on the TV .
2- Some of the companies use it for sex TV films and programs , and that of course case a lot of social problems .
3- It be the first information source for a lot of people , and that make them away from the first really clean source THE BOOKS !

It kills innoscence in children.The children are forced to know everything which is not
necessary or suitable for their age.Because of this they become more matured at an early age.They lose their innoscence and childish behaviour which is a boon to mankind.
Innoscence gives happiness.But the kids are not enjoying this happiness in the present world.

Time limits and monitoring it for children are some ways of keeping control of what they learn. But also there are some adults as well that are boob tube watchers.

1. Because of watching TV, the must "discussion of family every day" before going to bed vanish.
2. Because of violent news, killings and bombings, we sometimes lose our confidence to go out.

Learn something you should learn
- horrify movie : this kind of movie will teach people to do crazy stuff, but it is my favorite type of movie.
- Sexual : i don't see it much on T.V
- Not Healthy : watching TV , do nothing

Things being blown out of proportion
Things being distorted and perceived the way the networks want it to be
Celebrities' private lives being intruded upon
Trash programs that promote idiodicy-- "The Simple Life" is the ultimate front-runner for this, especially with that ugly, spoiled b*tch Paris Hilton

Advantages: good mass-market coverage; low cost per exposure; combines sight, sound, and motion; appeals to the senses
Disadvantages: high absolute costs; high clutter; fleeting exposure; less audience selectivity

Advantages

Television permits you to reach large numbers of people on a national or regional level in a short period of time
Independent stations and cable offer new opportunities to pinpoint local audiences
Television being an image-building and visual medium, it offers the ability to convey your message with sight, sound and motion
Disadvantages

Message is temporary, and may require multiple exposure for the ad to rise above the clutter
Ads on network affiliates are concentrated in local news broadcasts and station breaks
Preferred ad times are often sold out far in advance
Limited length of exposure, as most ads are only thirty seconds long or less, which limits the amount of information you can communicate
Relatively expensive in terms of creative, production and airtime costs


There are more disadvantages than advantages... but i love my tv cos it has good shows on it 4 entertainment!!! im not really concerned about the "getting glasses" part of tv.

Advantages: (1) A powerful visual and auditory (sounds) medium which can reach several million viewers immediately at very low cost per viewer. (2) Viewer has a vide variety to choose from (3) Has a deeper impact on the recepient (light plus sound) than either visual alone (e.g. News Papers) or sound alone (e.g. Radio) Disadvantages: (1) At tmes visuals can be very disturbing and numbing (e.g 9/11 scenes) (2) Discourages viewer from using his/her imagination (3) If biased, the messages conveyed may have deleterious effects. (4) Less control or scrutiny compared to visual medias. Young viewers need guidance in many topics.

Brain candy.Most TV is not of any great quality.It is generally rubbish.If used effectively TV could be a truly useful educational and instructional medium.Local TV though lacking lavish budgets do in fact produce useful programming.
