I think that the world will not end one moment before it's supposed to. No one can make it happen sooner.
The countdown began the moment Christ ascended. Only God knows exactly when He will return.

Great question! What is really scary is that Bush and Blair are both fundamentalist Christians and Bush really is a very dangerous man in this regard. Think about it. The WAR on terror? We ...the righteous against they the infidels...come on? What else is he trying to do? This is a man with a maniacal case of meglomania....Sure 9/11 gave the thumbs up but we all know he already had his little hero plan hatched before that happend (this is a fact which can be confirmed) He truly does believe he is the chosen one.....it's not widely known but I saw some great expose on TV about it...very worrying indeed! I always think it's a great irony of this world that Satan comes dressed as God (Metaphorically speaking)....So Bush turns up all heroic and fanfares claiming to be the great one come to save us, and all you intelligent Americans buy the bull once (this was bad enough....it was obvious even then that the evil one had come...did you know Bush had more people Executed as the Governer of Texas than any other Governor EVER?!...And some of those people were known to be mentally ill!)... and then you go vote him back in after everything he'd done in the fisrst 4 years(COME ON??!!! Jeez ...you really deserve everything you get for doing that!!!) And on it goes with his "righteous crusade to rid the Earth of evil..." All the while wreaking havoc and destruction as he goes claiming it is "necessary", part of the crusade..... Meanwhile Islamic extremists have an even more powerfully driven belief that they should martyr themselves to the cause and the way the US have behaved towards the middle East...who can bloody well blame them....They even started on the UK recently by saying that they might have to discontinue the visa waiver programme because the UK was a "breeding ground" for terrorists! .... and so on it goes. All boils down to religious fundamentalism. Some faith is blind faith. Yes, it is a self fulfilling prophecy for sure, but if we can hold out long enough, I still believe that the planet has a destiny very few can conceive of. Don't ask me what that it cos I couldn't tell ya...just reckon this whole thing is bigger than we know!

As Farkas419 correctly states "... the world will not end one moment before it's supposed to. No one can make it happen sooner. The countdown began the moment Christ ascended. Only God knows exactly when He will return."
Jesus Christ will return in all of His glory and EVERY knee will bow, not because of what mankind does but because it is promised in the Bible and God cannot lie.
Instead of watching documentaries or getting opinions on Yahoo Answers go to the Source of Answers and read the Bible from Genesis to Revelation. Those of us who do read it see so many things happening around the world that make us think the end is coming very soon. We have seen all or nearly all combinations and permutations of evil. We have seen all or nearly all combinations and permutations of mankind trying to save himself.
As we hear news of earthquakes and wars around the world we wonder if this is it. We know that God's Word has been translated into nearly every language in the world so that ALL people will have the opportunity to hear the Good News of Jesus Christ and Him crucified, in their own language. Therefore those who do reject Him will be without excuse.
Since 1997 when I watched Princess Diana's funeral along with millions of people around the world and prayed The Lord's Prayer along with many of those watchers -
Our Father in heaven
Hallowed be your name
your kingdom come,
your will be done
...
Matthew 6:9,10 (NIV)
And knowing that He also said,
"Again, I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything you ask for, it will be done for you by my Father in heaven. For where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them." Matthew 18:19-20 (NIV).
Putting together promise, prophecy, world events, the spread of the Good News AND the prayer of millions of people my question for you is Have YOU accepted Jesus Christ as your LORD and Savior? I certainly hope so.
Amen. Come LORD Jesus!

Interesting question. But most of these prophecies involve fire and brimstone raining down from the heavens, four horsemen, great seals (not the furry aquatic mammals that bounce balls on their snouts) and other stuff that blatantly isnt happening. Plus, believing in the ramblings of a crazy guy on an island? sorry but John the Devine was a loony and the stuff he dreamt of, even with a very creative imagination or a psychotropic drug induced stupor, one cant relate his ramblings to current events. Book of Revelations? Short of revealing he was off his trolley it revealed very little.
So, I think we'll be okay, buddy, for now. Though Im probably going to Hell for calling John a loony. Ah well, was probably heading that way anyhow.

Well without fear religions might not exist. the evil people who run this world know how long certain groups have waited for the end of the world, and they are following prophecies like a playbook. And yes I do believe that some groups have it so programmed into them to look elsewhere for the answer or the savior, thereby denying inner responsibilty for themselves (emotional, mental ,spiritual, overall state of being), blaming others, saying the boogieman made them do something bad. They just may make it happen. I don't believe someone is coming to save us, that's our job, because these are our lives, this is our world, we are here to evolve. Having someone save us would defeat the purpose of all of this.

Have you ever seen a red moon? I have , this is prophesised in revelations. The end will come, there is a beginning therefore there must be an end.
Most people could not bear to see Christ and will burn at his coming, would you want to bring forth a flamethrower early?
These are the latter days live with it !!

If you believe the Bible, then it is impossible for man to advance God's timetable. Things like the "end of the world" and the second coming of Christ are determined by God, not the acts of mankind.

I think he end will come when an asteroid 15 miles in diameter hits the earth dead on at 100 miles per second.
Okay, maybe that is God's golf ball.
