Hindi is the national language. Other languages named as Indian languages in the Indian constitution are languages spoken in various Indian states as mother tongues . Sanskrit, Sindhi and English are not mother tongues in any state but are Indian languages constitutionally. Any official work can be done in these language also. Parliamentarians can speak in Sanskrit Sindhi and of course in English. Kashmiri is the mother tongue in Kashmir but is not an Indian language as per constitution. If Kashmiri is made an Indian language Pakistan will provoke more terrorists.
