The "spin the Mohammed" game piece and "Get out of Gitmo" cards are sure to turn some heads.
Seriously...it may not fully capsulate what the war on terror is about, but I think it also keeps a constant -- and real -- concern on the minds of people, even if we're talking gamers.
BTW -- do you have a link or short article to share that summarizes the game and maybe has a pic or two?

I think the 'War on Terror' in itself was in bad taste. I cringed when that idiot president first used the phrase... Asking for more trouble!
I think in actual fact that anything making light of something so severe is in poor taste. The new film out with Nicolas Cage may be sensitively done (I've not seen it), but it is still something which should never have crossed the boundary from solemnity into entertainment, which I'd say goes for the board game too...

I had heard of this. I think what we need to look at is the intent. If the intent was to educate people and help to teach them about the complexities of terrorism in the world, I think it might actually be a good idea. There are plenty of board games out there that are for that purpose, such as Robert Kyosaki's "Rat Race" game that teaches money management. However, if the intent is to exploit 9/11 and run a quick and easy profit, then I think it is definitely in bad taste.

It is terror which is in bad taste not something which shows its various angles.People ought to know the sick mind of terrorist and develop a universal hate for it.Unfortunately some men see it from local point of view forgetting that a terrorist at one place is terrorist everywhere. It is right to ridicule terrorism. To hell with it.

Of course it's in bad taste, but as a species we revel in it.
The nursery rhyme ring a rosey was about the Black Death, for crying out loud! Anyone wanna ban that because it's too close to the real danger of a bird flu pandemic?
How about the brutal slaying of three visually challenged rodents, or an egg fatally injured falling off a wall?
C'mon folks...

The people are sensitive to themselves and rather gather to attend a mourning, then take the preventative steps that would have avoided the funeral, they do not seek the truth, and are attacking those that announce their failures in whatever form it comes, in warning, mockery or in taughting, they would kill the messenger even if it was an angel.

i think it's funny as sh*t. that was my exact first thought. it would allow people to act out (try out) their views on the whole thing vs. b*tching about how people in power are handling it. and, yeah, i do think the acts of terrorists should be mocked and brought down to board-game level. it kind of sends a clear message, no? that, maybe we don't take them as seriously as they would like us to? it's the only way to beat terrorism...to not be terrified. and if they're pissed about it, tough. let them jump up and down and stomp their feet and throw a tantrum. what the f do i care?

That's freak en stupid. Now were just asking for another 9/11.I agree totally with the terrorist on that one.How would you like it if your religion was made into a child's play thing. No. Most likely the game will be making fun of the terrorist. I do not support it one bit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It sounds like war profiteering to me, which itself is in bad taste.
