I don't know about the "poap" but I do know that the Pope is a human being and God created only one perfect being.

Who said the "poap" made a mistake. I understand that he was just quoting someone from the 14th century whose views seem pretty relevent even today. It seems that the muslim fundaMENTALists have siezed on the remarks and are using the situation to promote yet more anti-western hate.

The Catholic Church teaches that the Pope is infallible at closely defined times.
The Pope is only infallible when he, in union with the body of bishops, solemnly teaches that a doctrine as true.
This comes from the words of Jesus to Peter (the first Pope) and the Apostles (the first bishops), "Whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven" (Matthew 18:18) and "He who hears you hears me" (Luke 10:16).
At all other times the Pope can be just as sinful as you and me and be in need of forgiveness.
With love in Christ.

The Papal doctrine of infallibilty is limited to a very narrow array of views. Primarily it deals with questions of Dogma or questions of faith that are supremely important to the Church as an institution. It ends there. The Pope is human and makes errors all the time, just as we do. Papal Infallibility should not be widely interpreted it only applies to specific views on specific questions.

What the pope said was correct, and it is being blown out of proportion again.
I dread to think what would happen if Christians reacted like the Muslims over things said about Christ.
Catholics are also totally wrong believing the pope to be infallable.

Your question is in the wrong category...and Pope was spelled incorrectly.
By the way, he didn't make a mistake. He was QUOTING someone else, and idiotic people don't take the time to read...they just believe what's on TV.

Erm is it maybe because he's human and no better then you or I?
I'm sure Catholics all around the world will forgive him. Unlike Muslims who seem to want to kill him for simply mentioning something from the 1400s.
What a strange, strange world we live in.

He didn't make a mistake, he knows exactly what he's doing. I'm not a Catholic but I support his views. Muslims wailing because he said about spreading religion by the sword. What do they do? Prove him right - burn churches, shoot a nun, have a protest.
