Im doing it Nov 9 (a Thur) and I return to work on Mon, Nov 20. T-giving is Thur, Nov 23. Thats exactly 2 weeks after the surgery. A friend of mine had the tuck done, and she had two drains. One came out on the second day, the other on her 5th day. Im curious about the hunched over thing-how long that lasts. And Im curious about the drains thing. Do they just yank those things out when they are ready to come out? Will I be ok for Thanksgiving if I dont tell family members? Do you get swollen after the surgery or can you wear your regular clothes again right away? I understand there is an immediate result w/ the tummy being cut out and all, but will there be a significant noticable difference by the 2 week point? Im asking my m.d. this all on Friday when I see her, but I thought I would check in with you all and see what your results were.
PS-I do NOT need any of you ppl that are "against" plastic surgery letting me know your narrow minded opinions, nor do I need surgery in India info

Hi Jen! How surprised was I to see my ID in your question!

The drains are put in to help remove the access fluid that your body produces after the surgery. They come out (and yes, they yank them!) once your drainage amount is below a certain amount for 2 days. My first was removed 2 days after surgery....the other was 8 days, but that was due to a weekend.

Hunched over: 2 weeks after surgery....you'll probably be a little hunched over still, but not like a little old lady...more like you hurt your back. I would say, though, there is a significant difference at the two week point. I went to a wedding 18 days after my surgery and danced. I sat down most of the time, and was walking primarily upright, so people did NOT know I had anything done, but my doctor said I had healed fast.

Swelling: YES!!!!! No - you cannot wear smaller clothes right away...especially since you will be wearing a girdle or a velcro binder for at least a month. Your curent clothes? - yes, within a day or too. The binder / girdle fits nicely under clothes, but I'd give yourself a solid 3 - 4 weeks before swelling truly goes down. I did go down ALMOST 2 sizes about 4 weeks post surgery (one size down is a little baggy, but 2 down is too tight.)

Thanksgiving: If you get up and get moving the next day after your surgery and don't let yourself be bed-ridden, I think you may be able to pull it off after 2 weeks in looks alone. But, your mobility will be WAY DOWN....so cooking dinner....that's pushing it. At least it would have been for me. Like I said, I went to a wedding....a lot of sitting and standing around. I did dance, but nothing crazy. I CANNOT see you lifting a pan with a turkey in it! Especially bending over to get it out of a low oven! But hey - if there is a will, there's a way!

So, I think you'll be able to get it pass them with you hurt your back (have a story planned to go with it, too!) But, you won't be100% nomral yet, so maybe get some help in the cooking department! We told very few people that I had a tummy tuck, but I told people I had "a surgery." I think since they know I had twins and I'm NOT wanting more kids, they ASSUMED I had my tubes tied....and that's fine by me if they think that!

Good luck! Please feel free to contact me! I think if you click on my icon there's a link to "contact me." I'd love to talk more, and I'm interested in how you are on Thanksgiving!!!

She in all probability thinks AC/DC song is the final too. How does she experience approximately cinnamon rolls? Heck, if she likes them she will't be all undesirable. good Dings? Print the word off the workstation printer at artwork and placed it in her artwork station while she takes a ruin. enable her sweat it out who has it in for her. you are able to attempt her later to work out in simple terms how jumpy it made her. Sneak up at the back of her and softly say "Boo!" If she jumps and her head hits the ceiling, you obtain her stable.

These are questions you should be asking your doctor who performs your surgery.
