There's already a lot of good advice offered here.

I just want to stress how UNhealthy eliminating food is for your body. Your cells need nutriton for fuel, otherwise you will feel sick. Drinking only water has a nutritional value of ZERO.

You need to eat and exercise to lose weight. It has taken me over 30 years to learn this lesson... I've tried all the fad diets and even some programs and pills.

Now, I've learned a lot about 'proper' nutrition, correct portion control, and I started an exercise regimin. I'm losing weight at a healthy pace. In June I weighed 214 and now I82, my goal is 145.

I began with the Two-Cup Diet recommended by Josh Bezoni, nutritionist. With this diet you eat 2-cups of food 5 times daily... it's what you put in those 2-cups that determins your weight-loss. You need a minimum of 130 carbs daily to fuel your body... more than that and you may gain weight.

Here is a great website to check out: http://slimbodycoach.com/
I'm not promoting their products, but the information is beneficial.

Best of luck in your weight-loss efforts.

No.

If you stop eating for less than a month, your body will go into starvation mode and your metabolism will slow down to conserve energy.

If you stop eating for greater than 30 days, you will lose weight, but you will gain it back immediately when you start eating again.

You must achieve a balanced diet of small proportions and exercise in order to lose weight effectively.

No. Because you are not eating your body will go into survival mode and hold on to the fat because it thinks you're starving. You will not lose or gain, your weight will just stay the same. Not eating is the worst way to try to lose weight.
My advice to you is start weight training. Just small weights to help build a little muscle. The more muscle you have the more fat you burn.

Maybe at first, but as soon as you eat (and you have no choice) it will come right back.
Beyonce just did a 14 day fast to lose 20 lbs for a video and it worked. But now sheseating again and gained the weight back...

Yes but it will be a short term loss. the water will flush your system and you would loose a few pounds but as soon as your body realizes it's not getting what it needs it will revert to a starvation mode and conserve its resources as much as possible. Then when you begin eating again it will store everything fearing it will not get anything more...this is why yo-yo diets don't work..not recommended and not very healthy

The body would go into storage mode and begin to store it's energy and fat knowing that no further food is coming. However after a while the body will begin to consume the fat in your body which would result in weight loss.

NOT RECOMMENDED THAT YOU JUST DRINK WATER THOUGH.

that's fasting, but if it's only for weight loss you are denying your self needed nourishment as fasting shouldn't be for long periods of time and monitored by your doctor, see your doctor for a proper diet to lose the weight you want for a healthy diet and a nutrionst as well as a personal trainer to find out the right amount. of weight to lose the bmi scale is off by ten pounds at the leat as it don't count muscle mass and bone structure.
