I have no idea, but I think it has something to do with people thinking they are smarter than the people who actually have real jobs in sports...
There are many people - mostly ex-jock guy-types - who love to talk sports and think they know more than others, especially know more than the people who actually have the jobs of running sports teams.
As like gambling, you will have people saying that it makes the games more interesting to follow...People can do what they want...but if you need an extra incentive to follow a sport, why don't you put just as much money and effort into finding something to motivate yourself into doing something more productive for yourself??
I know i sound like I am preaching, but I need not extra incentive to follow sports and if there is a week or day where the games don't interrest me, I have many other things that I have interest in that I can do...so, I guess I just don't understand it.
I think fantasy players think that there thoughts and opinions are somewhat validated and that they "prove" they know more that someone else because they picked and played players who happen to run up better stats that some other person.
I am a football fan and find fantasy football a microcasm of what is "wrong" with today's society...To me, football is the ultimate team sport, and though a very dangerous sports, a person can learn a lot about life...But then there is fantasy football that focuses solely on individual statistics in a sport where teamwork is the most important factor. A FF team can, theoretically, be loaded with players who have great stats and win the fantasy league championship and the (real) teams they play on have losing records.

Your pastor is not crazy. Flacco has been sketchy at best this year. But I would still him up over colt mccoy. Give mccoy a few more weeks to see what is there. The browns have some really good weapons who just need some time in the system like Greg Little.

Simple, most fantasy leagues have money involved, its just another form of gambling.
And you are almost the General Manager/Coach in a way because you choose who to draft and start

Maybe because it's alot of fun.....Running your own team and trying to do scouting for the next matchup. Sometimes yes money's involved but, I play with a bunch of friends for fun....As far as it being a problem for today's society I would think that maybe you need to find more interesting things to do with your time then to worry about what other ppl are doing thank ya.....

Probably because since there's so much luck involved, just about anyone can win their league.
Who would have guessed LJ would be having this much trouble running? Who would have guessed Moss would do nothing in the first two weeks?

personally it makes the game more interesting cause your just not routing for your home team your routing for your players on your fantasy team to play well, i find myself not caring who wins games, just as long as my players are doing well.......
