on these old apartments that is cleary falling apart? Are they waiting for them to fase out and just blow them all up like they did the projects back in the 90's? People do move here from out of town looking for a place for themselves and their families. All these apartment complexes have bad ratings and all the ratings match up with each other. Managers why are these places not renovated? They are all so old,not fair for the rent being asked for these run down places.

And let me add us people from up north do like living in apartment complexes not all of us come down here to buy homes. We are used to living in luxury apartments,so maybe that's why we complain about these run down apartments it is such a drastic change. Relocated for employment reasons.

First off-that is not a question for the Apartment Managers. They only Manage. They are not the owners. Only owners and/or partners can make any rehab decisions. I would say the owners are slum lords and as long as they can get people to rent, they will not update or upgrade. However, for all of you out there living in a place "like this" if there are issues of safety and concern due to negligence, then you need to contact your City Department- Probably Code Compliance with specific issues. Call the Fire Dept. if you see problems there. Eventually the Owners will get tired of the hassle and do something.

Because doing so would cost them money.
They'll try to do as little as possible until they start violating health and building codes.

Why would they spend the money on upgrades if they can keep them rented "as-is?"

It costs money.

It means more work for them.

Rent is too low.
