This is to reduce friction between your hand and your penis...

If you produce enough pre-c*m, then you didn't need the lotion.. as simple as that...

I think it at the very least adds to the sensitivity when masturbating. It isn't absolutly necessary to use lubricant or lotion while masturbating, but it can (and does) add to the stimulation and sensation. Try it with and without lubricant to see the difference between the two.

Also, in some cases, using a lube is actually necessary. For example, when you use a B-doll as a male sex toy, the "dry hump" method may proove hurtful for your tool, so the use of a good lubricant becomes mandatory. Check out my Yahoo group for more details:

A lubricant's purpose is to produce a situation that feels more like actual intercourse. A bare hand creates too much friction which is unnatural. Lubricants such as KY gel are probably more suited than a lotion.

If you don't need any lube, don't use it. Lotions are full of weird chemicals that are readily abosorbed by your body, and do you want them absorbed there? Use a more natural lube if you need one--aloe vera gel works well, and the KY lube is supposedly tested for safety. Regular skin lotion also has fragrances you may not want down there!

most men use lubricate to prevent burning the skin of the penis as you continuously dtroke up and sown on your shaft. continued friction between yor hand and your penis creates warmth; possibly the irritation of the skin along the penis. this is eepecially true if it takes you an extended time to complete the masturbation expereince.
not all men take to using lubricant, if fact, i believe most me don't use it. i've tied using it and do not find my penis is any more sensitive by using is. mayve it's because i'm uncut and have more flexible skin to move up and down. i also keep my genital area shaved because when i have a heavy bush, the hairs would sometimes scratch my c--k as i was masturbating.
anyway, try using a lubricant. if it aids in the sensitivity of the job, keep using it.
Have fun with yourself!
