I need to more details. Why do you need 2 weeks leave?? Is it important or a vacation request? Do you always need time off? Is your boss normally unresonable? Is this a "job" or a career for you? The most important question is do you like your job?? If so, work it out and forget about resigning. You don't always get what you want or think you need in the real world. It's a place of employment and not a freindship. Theyre priority is their business. Welcome to the grown up world. BTW...nothing wrong with feeling sad. Now snap out of it by lunch and get your job done!

That's a decision only you can make. But if I was unhappy in a job I would probably quit. I know I could get something else pretty soon anyway, so I wouldn't be out of money, and its just not worth being in a job you hate because it just makes you miserable and depressed.

Everyone needs a vacation, time away from work, time to spend with family, time to do other things....so if you gave your boss notice in advance and he cannot understand that you want some time off, then maybe it is better that you find another position. Your boss is inconsiderate and selfish. If you gave him the notice in advance and wasn't talking about taking off next week, then I don't see any reason why he cannot grant you your request.

i'll bet the reposition is a bluff. if you need the cash desperately, keep your job. if you're too sad to work and it's taking all the joy out of everything.. just take your stuff and leave now,
