I drink a lot of coffee in winter and have read that babies conceived when mum is heavy on the coffee turn out to be boys. Works for me, though none of mine have been planned.

there are some diets but they're far from sure fire, and they're not very convenient to follow

the only thing you can do is try to increase the odds. Male sperm swims faster (same engine, slightly lighter head), and lives for a shorter time.

So if you have sex with not too deep penetration (avoid all fours, or man on top woman w legs up), and on or close to the day of ovulation (about 14th for a regular 28 day cycle), you'll be helping the male sperm a bit.

Whether that raises your chance of a boy to 55 or maybe 60 percent, not sure.

In any case the probability of a boy is over 50 percent, it's closer to 52-53 percent, all else being equal. But then men die more and sooner so in the overall population you have more women...

A sure fire way of conceiving a boy is sperm selection, not available in all countries and only available in the UK if there is some kind of genetic condition why it would be dangerous for you or the baby if it were female.

Or you could of course just count your blessings that you are able to have children, rather than the many couples out there in the world that cannot.

This sounds stupid and I dont want comments off everybody, but I heard that if you eat a lot of red hot curries and chilli this helps to conceive a boy. Really there is no sure fire way though, a child should be wanted no matter which sex it is.

I was told that girls are conceived from the stronger faster sperm higher up in the fallopian tubes. Taking this into it would suggest that lazy sperm later into your menstrual cycle would result in a boy. So wait until 2-3 weeks after your period before having sex. Good luck

If you do manage to get pregnant, be grateful, and if it is a girl, treat her nicely and not as second-best!
