Both of the first to answers are right! But the first use was in the movie Treasure of the Sierra Madre starring Humphrey Bogart
Also Johnny Fever(Howard Hessman) in WKRP in Cincinnati used it in an episode. I used it in Yahoo answers only slightly changed. It is a widely used expression now.
