My five year old daughter is in a basket ball league and they will be playing their games using a regulation hoop. I need to know how tall they are in the NBA so she can practice at home.

i am sorry to tell you this, but unless you have an extremely tall five year old daughter, she is hopeless. NBA regulations state that hoops must be 10 feet from the floor to the rim. My five year old brother can't throw a basketball up that high (ive seen him try) . Basketballs are too heavy for young children to throw 10 ft into the air. sorry.

The regulation height is 10 feet, but it is very unusualy for 5 year olds to have to use that height.

At 5 years, children do not have the strength to reach that height with the heavy basketball. Even at 12, many still do not have the strength! You might want to talk to the league about letting this age group use lower nets.

What is the regulation height from the court floor to the basketball rim for high school? for NCAA? for NBA?
