they tell you when the message you sent has been delivered so if you want to know if some one has there phone turned back on after being switched off do what i did with my ex cos he turned his phone off so i did not ring while his other woman there i did not know wat the time about her so i used to ssecd a txt and when i got delivery report saying delivered i used to ring the phone so i could catch him with the phone on. just one thing it does not matter if you have delivery reports swithced on if you on pay as you go on the o2 network you don,t get a report they do not support delivery reports even though you switch the option on

Well i fyou set the delivery report option to ON, then once you send a message to someone (and its been DELIVERED, not READ , then you get a message back telling you it has been delivered)
But just because it has been delivered doesnt necessarily mean the receiving person has read the message!
Hope that helps

If you send a lot of text messages it can be a bit annoying (ie you'll get double the amount of messages in your in-box). Suggest you turn it on for a specific message and then turn it off again. Of course, the receipt doesn't mean that your message has been read by the user only that the network(s) involved has/have communicated.

go 2 messages then message settings, click down until u c deivery reports then choose either yes or no.......when u send a message u will then get a message back 2 say whether the person has recieved the message or not....ie..whether their phone is switched off or not... but if a persons phone is switched off u will get a message saying not delivered but when they switch the phone on u will get a report saying your message has been delivered....hope that helps

you send the message, if there phone is off you won't recieve a report until they have turnt it on and recieved it, or if phone is on, and they recieve it, you automatically get a report.
hope it helps.

it lets you know that your message has been sent. i think you can ask for reciept from the person you send it to. they cant reply until its sent.
