My newborn boy came out fine, was delivered through a C section but the gynae used a forcep to get the head out first then then pull the body out. I noticed 4 red patches 1 was on the crown of his head, 1 on the back of his neck&head, 1 on his right eyelid and 1 in between his 2 eyes. The last red patch lightened up and dissappeared but the others still remained. The one on his crown is getting scaly, crusty and flakes are forming in that patchy red area. The same is happening with the red patch on his eyelid.

The redness on the back of his neck & head has develped a white oval/circular patch which got lighter & lighter and then loss of hair occured within the white patch and this white patch is found within the large red patch. Anybody got any clues as to what is going on here

don't freak out. it has nothing to do with how healthy or clean your little one is. He has cradle cap. My son had it til he was four months old. what finally helped was that I stopped using shampoo on his hair and after our bath(we had a bath twice a day because he was so round and plump--milk collected in all his rolls!:) anyway, rub baby lotin in it real good. It will eventuslly go away. i always had fun picking it out when he was feeding too. ha ha. But don't worry, it is natural and accurs alot with babies who have lots of hair.

White Patches On Head

Check if the white bald patch is where the baby's head rests when it's sleeping. Many babies rub the hair off the back of their heads as they don't have the strength to lift the head up, but turn their head side to side.

The redness should however be checked out by a dr just to make sure it's not an allergy.

Sounds like the baby has cradle cap. All of my children had it. Get out the surgical scrub brush from the hospital(it is very gentle) dampen the babies hair put a little baby shampoo on the brush and very lightly in circular motions wash for about one minute in the am and pm. Do this very gently it should be gone within the month. I hope this helps you. Good luck with your baby.

It sounds like Eczema. Consult your pediatrician as to what is best to put on it where your baby is so little. Sometimes the prescribe a special cream.

Sounds like he might have alittle cradle cap in his head. Ask you pediatrician what would be best to use.

What he's got is called cradle cap. Needs washing, needs attention, will go away eventually.
