Ron and I originally met at a New Years Party in 1980. Although, we didn't actually start living together until March that year, we still prefer to think of every New Years Eve as our anniversary.
The kiss at midnight is how we first met and almost 27 years later, it is still how we celebrate our union and the love we still enjoy for each other..
Besides, at 76 and 68 years old, it makes it easier to remember.(LOL)

Which one? We've had ten so far. Each one is a different celabration.
This past summer we took a long weekend trip, got a cabin, swam in the lake, warmed ourselve by the fire on the beach and just relaxed. We had a couple nice romantic diners and hit the town for antique shopping during the day. We took in a play one evening, and had desert and drinks with my parents.
(Yeah we took a long weekend retreat to the town where my parents live, it's an adorable little town in the Ozark Mountains)

My husband and I like to do things together. Our anniversary was Sept.11th so in spite of things we do things that make us both happy.
Going to the mud boggs and mud drags is very exciting for us. So we have fun and work on our tans at the same time.

We usually try to go out to a nice dinner, and just one gift for each other if we can. We also make our own cards for each other. The latter is the most important to us, really, and comes in handy when the money is tight [which, it is, this year, for example]. If we can't go out to dinner I'm usually the one who volunteers to cook my partner's favorite dish, and maybe bake a dessert if we can afford the ingredients for it. Just spending quiet quality time with each other is the most important thing, really. 23 years, as of the end of this month, and it just keeps getting better.
