In the past I've had my photo recognised and I've had emails flirting with me from having a photo on my old yahoo profile (back when I was 16). The avatars are small and you shouldn't be able to see too much detail, why not try it for a week or two and see what you think?

Personally I don't because I prefer to be fairly anonymous. I don't think there's any risk involved, just depends on whether you want people to see the real you or not. I like my yahoo avatar ayway, does actually look weirdly like me! ;)

Drawback: Some other person can copy your photo and edit it with unflattering additions (use your own imagination) and then use the altered photo for their own warped purposes.

Give it a go. People will only say that they recognise you from here if u meet them on the streets.

depends if you want to be recognized on the street, but hey, as you can see with mine, it's not really all that detailed, so the chances of being recognized by a picture the size of a stamp... nah, not really... ;)

Try not to let it be a serious picture....if it is people might tend to steer away from answering questions. I am sure i will be proven wrong though....Regards

its nicer to see who you are talking to i have mine in mine i,m not vain i dont put it there for any other propose just to have it there and i dont worry about people if they think im ugly or not it doesnt bother me
