Nothing you read is rubbish! If you don't like something don't read it. You can gain knowledge and insight from anything you read. Don't put down what you don't understand. One of my favorite quotes is "Knowledge is just a word, unless you apply it. Then it becomes Wisdom" Why don't you try using that maxim when you are reading anything and you will see that even those authors who write non-fiction do research so as to further the reaches of their books.

If you are into horror books, RL Stine and Christopher Pike, along with many others write horror books for teens. James Patterson also has a series called Maximum Ride. I don't know how they are, but all of his books that I have read have been real page turners.

I can't think of any...because I don't know your interests...you should ask your school librarian for some good books. There are a lot of true stories you could read.

14, you're ready for Vonnegut. Start with Sirens of Titan if you already like SF, otherwise go with Cat's Cradle. I envy anyone who hasn't discovered Vonnegut yet.
