Tommy Blue, the political agenda is to supress honest discussion regarding homosexuality. So, we cannot have proper discussion whether we as a culture wish to have homosexuality presented on equal footing to hetrosexuality to our children, for instance.

Agreed! Even that Flintstones song"we'll have a gay old time" is now corrupted. Most poofs are fairly dramatic and emotional and not gay at all.

LOL. Words have taken on added meaning throughout history as well as having older meanings, those no longer used, dropped or discarded. Either accept it, or create your own language.
I find it amusing that you declare the "change" to not be a naturally occurring one considering the "slang" meaning of the term was originally a derrogatory term used by a minority with a political agenda itself. Sour grapes? I think so. Your argument holds no merit.

Can you please describe this political agenda, because, as a 50 year-old "GAY" man, I cannot for the life of me figure out what this agenda is.....aside from the gay marriage issue....
If you want to refer to the gay marriage issue as an "agenda", then that's cool. Whatever. It's not really a big deal, though, is it?
How, exactly, does it affect you?
As far as the word "Gay"....I believe it's only a word.

The word gay comes from the term happy and gay pride is all about the right for people to be happy what ever there are and what ever they do in there bed room

i do not understand why that seems so meaning full as not many people don't even know its meaning
Only going a few or so years ago like fifty homosexuals started to use the term gay and i only found out the word means happy five years later gay has meant homosexual for long enougth to have that meaning

I was writing an article on Victorian England (essentially the last half of the 19th century) and in researching it, I discovered they used the term "gay" then too--promiscuous heterosexuals. Then, of course, there were the "gay" years in American culture of the earlier part of the 20th century--party drinkers during the Prohibition of alcohol period.
It will fall out of use, then some other social fad will pick it up in time.
