You can't change a society, but you have to change your mind. Are we inferior or superior if whiter or darker?
Taller or shorter? Skinny or chubby?
Please, think on the white people trying to catch some color and how much money are the cosmetic companies making with self-tanning products, sun protectors, etc.
Beauty is also an attitude. I've seen beautiful people from all colors and the same with ugly people.
Feeling inferior makes you look inferior.
Just get rid of that ridiculous idea, let the other people think what they want, if that is what they think, then they are square minded people. Whoever pretends to be superior, is already stupid because we are all human beings just in different packages.
After death, who cares if the skin have been lighter or darker?
Get strong, fight against prejudices and find friends among people that takes a position against all discrimination.
Start putting yourself in the right place. No above not below anybody.

Why should having a dark complexion make a person feel inferior, people should be proud of who they are whether light or dark, they are still human.

Sorry you feel that way about yourself. But I suppose it is understandable if people make you feel that way. It's not like that everywhere you know.In Hawaii for instance, the lighter skinned white people are the minority and in school the kids can be really mean to a white kid. Most white kids in Hawaii want to dye their hair black at one point in their lives.

There's this stereotypical perception that (basically) white skin=clean, pure, etc. and black=is the opposite. It sucks doesn't it? It's the American's "standard" of beauty which they imposed in the minds of the people in countries they invaded way back in history. It's that stupid "standard" of beauty which hinders most people to embrace and celebrate their natural skin (color). Sorry if I sound rude, but it's true. Don't mean to hurt anyone though.

Well, the real opportunities are always given to the BLUE BOYS/GIRLS. Checkout every big company employee organizational list. Checkout any U.S Government high office in this country. There is a level when you CAN'T get those opportunties. Oh yeah, checkout your TV programming.
