Got one myself, just make sure you remember to get one in an area that's comfortable to pose in for a long time. I didnt and nearly got cramp a few times. Anyway the wife liked it, it's a Rose with her name on it.

I have a thundercloud with a lightning bolt and 3 stars surrounding it. It's medium sized and it's on my left forearm.

I've had it for about 35 years and I still like it, but I was lucky as I designed it myself, and followed 2 guidelines; 1. NO NAMES or WORDS! And 2. No "objects" like skulls, daggers, cartoon characters, or ANYTHING anyone else would have too.

So far in all my travels, I've never seen another like mine, although I'm sure at least a few must exist in the world somewhere.

What YOU should get depends on YOU, and where you should get it is EVERY BIT AS IMPORTANT AS WHAT YOU GET.

Don't ask us, figure it out - eventually the right design will come to you. If you rush it to get something as fast as possible to "join the crowd," You'll probably end up not liking it eventually, and then getting more and more tattoos as you search for "that special one..." which you may never find.

If you get the right one in the first place, you probably won't need to get any others. A tattoo is a VERY personal thing, and the right ONE is enough for most people.

Good luck!

By the way, no matter what, until you've had it for at least 20 years, you really can't know if you "still love it" or not. Just something more to think about.

I thought about mine for at least 3 years before getting it. I knew where I wanted, just not what. When I looked on the tattoo wall, I found the one at first glance. The only thing is that like it was it would be facing the wrong way. The tattoo artist came over to me and asked what was wrong. I told him that it was backwards. He laughed and said NO problem. He then turned it over and everything was fine. That was 25 years ago. I want more, and I even know what I want. I just have not been back to do more. It is totally your choice. Do NOT let anyone influence your decision. Just think about it very carefully. The only thing I would suggest is to put it where you can see it anytime. At least the first. In other words, don't put a little flower on the back of your shoulder. You can't see it! Mine is a butterfly in a moon and it is above my right breast. I love it dearly.

Don't do it they look Sh*it and unattractive . And meaningless hundreds of people have the same tattoos wow big deal!!! Why not be branded instead? Oh and sorry to shatter your deams of being hot when you are 70 on nurse's pay you aint going to be. Everything is going to sagg so if you get a tattoo on your boob by the time you are 70 it will probably be closer to your knees than you chest. Hehe

in this day and age you would be better having your name and blood type tattooed on each limb, torso and back of head not the mention hands and feet. Just incase you get blown up and want to be burried in the same place.

Think about it carefully and make sure that you get something that you absolutely love. Beware of getting someone's name tattoed on you!! It's totally worth paying extra for a really good tattoo artist too. I have two tattoos, one on each arm. The first one that I got when I was about 19 is not brilliant and in hindsight I wish I'd thought about it a bit longer and gone to a better place to have it done. I love tattoos though and I would never discourage anyone from getting one (unless it was on their face, urgh!). Just think of a few things first - will you need to cover your tattoos for formal events like job interviews, are you absolutely sure about the design, have you researched tatto artists in your area. Although I don't have the best tattoos in the world (I still think they're still cool though, a celtic armband and a dolphin) I love them and have accepted them as part of me and there are times when I love showing them off.

Take your time and be sure.

Good Luck!

I'm all for someone wanting a tattoo if its something they want to do. But I will never for the life of me why anyone would ask strangers what they should permanently get on their body. 100 people could suggest 100 different things that mean absolutely nothing to you because we don't really know anything about you... Think about your life... the things you like to do...your family...career...etc and I'm sure you will come up with something on your own.
I myself have 15 tattoos which I got for different reasons at different times in my life (over the last 13 years)

You shouldn't even get one. If you get one, you'll only be bringing yourself pain and suffering, and eventually, you'll get poisoning because of the laser beams surpassing your body.

Although you might think it's terribly cool and in fashion to get one now, you'll live to regret it... Believe me, when you're really wanting to get it off, the process is much more painful than having the tattoo...

I remember that my uncle joined a triad and he went to get a tattoo. However, a few days later, he had laser skin defects and had to remove a lot of dirt and laser-dead skin cells from his body. He also found out that the triad was seperating, but when he applied to get the tattoo off, he regretted ever having one before. He had to pierce through his own skin, and everyday when he came over for dinner, I would see his scar and dried patch of blood on where his tattoo had been before....

im 19 and have 2 dragons. they r from a lifelong love and fascination of dragons. i think that if ur not sure wot u want u shud wait a while till u do. hate to sound boring but this is gonna b with u the rest of ur life. OR u could go into the studio and speak with the artist. explain to them wot kind of things u like (butterflies, dragons, zombies i dont kno) and they can design u a one off tattoo. costs a bit more but is worth it.

good luck xxx

I have 4 at the moment, a heart and scroll with my daughters name on shoulder, mother and child in chinese symbols on my stomach and a celtic patch on my hip. Just get something unusual that will mean a lot to you. My daughters heart has a dagger through it to represent strength and courage. I wouldn't get a coloured one though, as your boobs will go south and it is more likely to go funny as you get older. Personally if I was getting a tat on my boob I would go for a small symbol of some sort, courage, faith, laughter, something like that, something that I think is a part of my personality and my soul.

It's a good thing that you are doing your research. Most people jump into it, and later regret it. I have a large Japanese style panther on my left arm, and a sailor's atar on my left forearm. I just thought they looked cool.
You should get something you like, btu whatever you do do not get it on the smalll of your back. For women I think that is so overrated. Get somethign that means a lot to you
