When watching a movie on the PC only the software runs and the system is idle. Your screen saver runs when it seems that the system is idle. Not whether the software is running or not.
so the screen-saver comes even if you open any software and leave it without pressing any key or moving the mouse

Your screensaver comes on because you haven't moved your mouse in a while. However do not fret! There is a solution!
Right click anywhere on your desktop. Select "Properties" from the menu that appears.
A box will appear with tabs across the top. Select the tab entitled "Screen Saver". Now if you have a screensaver selected type "9999" in the box that says "Wait". This means that your screensaver won't activate for 9999 minutes after your mouse has stopped moving. Plenty of time to watch a movie!
Alternatively, select "None" for you screensaver if you do not intend to use a screensaver again.
Now, finally, click the button that says "Power". Another box will appear. Select the tab entitled "Power Schemes".
Now select "Always On" from the list of Power Schemes.
Make sure that "Turn off monitor", "Turn off Hard disks" and "System Standby" are all set to "Never". This will stop any further interruptions to your film such as your monitor going off or your computer shutting itself down.
Click "Apply" then "OK" on both boxes...and voila, your computer will now no longer interrupt your movies.
Enjoy!

The screensaver comes on after so many minutes of inactivity on the computer. Unfortunately, computer only count interaction between it and a user as "activity". Things such as pressing a key or moving the mouse are activity. Running a CD or DVD is not considered activity since there is no computer/human interaction.
If you have a problem with that, please contact Mr B Gates and complain to him. He is the one who designed it that way. (LOL)
To prevent the screen saver from coming on, you will need to move the mouse every few minutes, or turn the screeen saver off until the movie is done.

Media players usually have an option to disable the screensaver whilst your playing a dvd.
For example in Windows Media Player : Tools > Options on the Player tab theres 'Allow Screensaver during playback'
in Winamp : Right click the main window, click Options then Preferances. On the left select Video then check "Disable windows screensaver"
I know DivX also has the option somewhere

Because that's what screensavers do - save your screen when you're not using it.
The problem lies in how Microsoft have decided to define "not using your computer" - as long as the mouse and keyboard remain inactive, then Windows thinks you are in turn inactive, and goes into screensave mode.
To stop it happening, disable the screensaver for the duration of your viewing by going through the relevant part of Control Panel.
Windows sucks like that.
Rawlyn.
p.s. Valid question, badly miscategorised.
