I mean they really should just make an appointment with their GP, don't you think. Once they know what it is then they can ask for advice from people who have the same condition but asking what is wrong with me in the 1st place is very foolish I think!

I agree. Some folks have some really serious health issues or are just trying to find someone to talk to. Either way ... they should see a doctor. Some of their problems are horrifying to me and I can't understand why they are wasting their time online searching for help.

It doesn't happen where I live. Doctors work all the hours that the money God sends here; but I am told that on some areas of UK for example, trying to get a GP to see you this side of next week is difficult.
So who wants to risk going to an overworked GP only to be told off for wasting their time?
Wouldn't you ask your family and friends for advice before you went?
Not everyone lives close to their family or feels able to ask friends for advice like that.
Answers can provide an instant and anonymous service that can either help or freak you out (if you are unlucky), so why not make use of it?

Not at all. Getting feedback and sending the feelers and sounding alarm is also part of therapy. Maybe it will help you or may not. But it keeps you forewarned about so many possibilities the answers project and the answers give you clue as to what questions you can pose to your doctor. Certain answers cure our ailments working subconsciously. What with half of the diseases are psychosomatic and the doctor just helps the body heal itself. A person on antibiotics is not solely on antibiotics to fight with germs. He produces some on his own.

there are some times when doctors themselves don't know the answer. i know there were times like that for me and in the end the answer came from one of my friends. after months of visiting doctors who have no idea what's wrong with you, i suppose you get sick of doctors.

but jumping straight to yahoo answers without visiting doctors is indeed not a good idea. too many stupid answers.

I don't think that there is a matter of worrying. Every one here is to support each other. It is a moral cause. Here we meet globally. Every one here is honest and responsible.
