Interesting question!
The liberal side of me says " What does it matter to you" and the deep in my heart side says " Because you have to look at them , that's why!"
They feel comfortable and in step with fashion. I haven't got a clue what I look like from the back, for example.
I make sure my front and side views are ok every day, and off I go secure in the knowledge that... what?
I look ok?
I haven't got a clue if people laugh at me behind my back, and really what does it matter to me?
What I don't know won't kill me. And I cannot force others to like my taste in anything.
Stands to reason that goes for hipster wearers as well!

i know so many women that wear clothes that dont fit properly or are totally the wrong type of fashion for their size. i think they refuse to admit they have put a bit of weight on. they will refuse to wear like a size 18 even though they are that size and will do everything to squeeze into a size 14 just so they can say they are a 14. then they look sooo uncomfortable, they would look so much nicer and probably slimmer if they wore the right size clothing. this is not a dig about anyones size by the way ive been up and down the scale and back up again but i couldnt wear clothes that are too small for me, especially if it meant i was hanging out all over the place.

I don't think a lot of girls realize how they look in them. Every young women wants to keep up with style. With today's fast pace life style kids are eating to much junk food. This is making young women unhealthy and over weight. sometimes we just need to over look things. But if their our friends then we can share with them that they don't look good in cloths that make them look over weight no matter what the style is.

Have YOU tried to buy a pair of jeans lately that aren't hipsters? It's all you can buy. I am a fat bird and I have to put up with my rolls of unsightly flab hanging over the top and YOU are the one moaning! The injustice!!

Well hipsters look especially good on girls with wider hips and small waists. So I hope you are not implying girls with big hips shouldn't wear them. HTH.

Just because it's fashionable adam. Some people are slaves to fashion and don't even consider whether a particular style actually looks good on them.....and I agree.....it looks awful.

They all seem to wear them like a uniform and because they all have muffin tops they think its OK

I've noticed that too. I'm not fat,but I would never wear that because it would make me look fat because my stomache is not in the best shape. But to each their own.

People are going to wear what they believe makes them feel attractive, regardless of what others think.

Maybe cause they don't have any idea that it doesn't suit them or maybe they just don't care and blindly follow the trend,.Maybe they wanna attract guys becoz alot of guys like Huge bums
