I love mine.I started it from leaf cuttings about 5 years ago and it is still growing like a weed. I have it on a 36" fern stand and the stems and leaves trail about 18" down the sides. Last year it bloomed twice. It's a beautiful magenta color. :)

There are a pair of websites that designate what to do. get exhilaration out of your flowering Christmas Cactus - in April. (does that make it an Easter Cactus?)

What do I think? I think you have a perfect house plant. There is also a thanksgiving cacti.I am not sure if that is true or if people just call them that if they bloom be for Christmas !
At any rate I have had mine for many years and it was from a cutting, still going strong.

I'm jealous! I love cacti, but it's hard to find them around Northern Ohio. I can purchase small ornamental ones through Home Depot and places like that, but I would love to find some larger, more intersting ones.
Your cacti sounds wonderful. Enjoy it!

I think Xmas cacti are just dandy. The image of Santa Klaus in a loincloth disturbs me though...
