I can't act to be respectful. But I am not hostile. I care about people whom I like.

Lack of respect doesn't mean disrespect.
But I dont tend to think much about what other people think.
That serves the purpose, but does not helps to make friends.

And no, I dont like to fake Smile.

Why not try to see the good in people if you feel you have to be judgmental about them. If you evaluate yourself, you may find you are not perfect either. A good way to start is to have a conversation with them. Your side of the conversation possibly to lean more to listening to others and hear the good they wish to share with you, and not to focus so much on the bad or annoying of what you don't want to hear. good luck, true friends are hard to come by and keep. don't be so judgemental

Lol...welcome to the club...I have the same problem...but I realized few things.
1) Do not let your self to be read as an open book. The less the people know about you the more respect you'll have from them. The trick is to use personality shifting...but first u must study his/hers personality and then configure your self to their wishes. Never expose your real you.
2) Do not put so much trust in friends. 90 % of them will talk about you behind your back and reveal your secrets or some stupid things u have done before, so other people will see you as a joke.
3) Stop all contacts with people that you see as persona non grata (unwanted person) and that can harm your reputation, and when you see them, ignore them.

And how to make new friends? Call some acquaintance that doesn't know you so much well and doesn't have any connection with your past friends , ask him to hang out and for a time the friendship will be build.

You need to look at who you are. Like yourself and then you will be able to open up to new friends. Always treat people with respect even if they don't deserve it. Pick your friends carefully. But it must start within you. You should start by changing your Avatar. It really is how people perceive you. You look like someone no one would want to approach.

"respect should be earned, not expected!!!"

if you don't respect people, there is probably a damn good reason why you don't... maybe they just ain't good enough to be friends with you...

try getting some acquaintences first and take it from there...
