Yes, when car makers manufacture cars, the body style and parts may vary a little, but in gereral, many parts are interchangeable for about 3-4 years, until the next body style comes along.

Not always I am a Saab Fan. There are some Saabs that have Bosch eletronic and others that use the Motorola but mainly you can adapt. I did that with my Saab's when I could not get the right parts. make sure you have on hand a Haynes owners workshop manual I only have the 79 to 85. also join the Saab owners club they are very helpful. I wish I knew where you where living, since I could put you in touch with my friend in Wales. He has Saab Style and could help you, and would get you the right parts or exchange if there is a problem. He helped me keep all my old 99's on the road till I went to Austria. Then regulations put it in a museum.

Let's keep it simple: If the part numbers match, it will fit.
