I believe the originator of these words and the time and place they were said enters into it or how to interpret the meaning. If the instructor was relating to a type of art then yes the artist's creation does contain a part of it's creator, his style, his feelings of what the art piece represents . His desire to create a perfect representation of his beliefs. His skill or lack of it, all this is a part of the finished piece.
In the sense of what he has seen and heard then, must be a part of what he creates, I believe it most definitely is, His impression of the things that he has seen and heard, would be a part of what he creates because they affect his ideas on how he sees his creation.

Some people may believe that to be true. I certainly think that anything created by our own effort gains a bit of our energy, or spirit within it. I'm not so sure about whta is seen and heard though.

The saying 'Putting your heart into it' means just that, when you do something with zest (spirit) then something of that must remain within whatever is created,

THE CREATION ALWAYS HAS A PART OF CREATOR. ONCE A PICTURE ASKED FROM ITS PAINTER," I AM POPULAR BECAUSE OF YOU BUT WHAT A PITY THAT I DONT HANE EYES TO LOOK AT YOU!" THE PAINTER ANSWERED ," YOU ARE TRYING TO FIND ME OUTSIDE, LOOK INTO YOURSELF; I M WITHIN YOU".
