With the Republicans an utter failure and Democrats too tied to their own special interests, doesn't America need a truly pragmatic party.

Who could break away from the current parties to form this new entity? I see people such as McCain, Clinton, Powell, Richard Lugar, maybe Lieberman, etc. as possibilities.

That would be a great idea! A 'Moderate' Party. Too bad it will never happen...

Yes that's why I consider myself an Independent. I try to vote for the best choice no matter which party. Unfortunately that usually means the lesser of two evils!
As for your list I'll go with Lieberman, and McCain, and Powell but alittle leery of the rest.

Get rid of all parties and run on issues and beliefs.
