after measuring a room for drywall how do i do i change that number into square feet?

You find out how many square feet and then convert that to what size of sheets of dry wall you are going to use - 4x8 is the easiest to use. Figure 10-15% loss due to having to cut pieces to go in some places. So buy several sheets more than you think you need.

multiply height by the width
