please please help me find this white whale. I saw this movie sometime between 1985 and 1988 but it doesn't mean it is from that time period. I'm trying to remember it 20 years later so bare with me. I believe it was based in space but could have been a futuristic base of some sort.
All I remember is there was a doctor that was a bad guy and he walked threw a door that automatically opened. Then a beast or monster grabbed him from behind some bars and ripped his limbs off! I guess that is why I remember it because of the violent scene.
The kicker is it may have been a t.v. show and not a movie.
I know it wasn't anything star trek and i think it was a movie because of the doctor getting violently torn apart. I have been trying to find this since then to figure out what it was. It is driving me crazy please pick your brains for me!!

It isn't alien or a sequel. I have seen most of the main stream sci fi and this has never has come up again. the enviroment of the base or ship reminds me of battlestar galactica. It's a futurist setting.

Was it any of the Alien films, lots of monsters and unattached body parts in them.
The odd doc too.

twenty years later myself and I can still find the time to forget things 5 seconds later if I am working at it, which doesn't really take a lot for me these days, anyways even though I love sci-fi and watch more than enough it sorry but your description is a bit vauge, you are going to have to give me more than that, I highly doubt it was a tv show especially if it was that graphic or violent, not twenty years ago, anyways it could be anything between one of the Aliens movies and I can really only think of one scene in there that comes close to the description you gave but I know it isn't what you are talking about, anyways hope you find the answer you are looking for as I am curious now as well, try and give some more detail if you can

The Omega Man with Charlton Heston, based on the book I Am Legend by Richard Matheson. Will Smith is currently filming a remake of this movie.

Yea, I think it was "Aliens" when they are getting away in the space ship and the Artificial Doc gets ripped in half.
