Don't hold back, tell us how you really feel. I gotta say, I'm not a fan either. I think he is overrated-big time. I get tired of seeing him on commercials too. I totally understand where you are coming from. I think there are a lot more talented drivers out there than Jr. Maybe he should be behind a desk at D.E.I.

I don't hate him. He is not his father, that is very true...but you know what? He has NEVER claimed to be his dad...that is the MEDIA that has done that; that is not Junior's fault. He is a very classy driver....when he makes a mistake, he admits it; when he wrecks someone he aplogizes.
He does not approach companies to do commercials, they approach him. His sponsors feel he has a great deal of talent or they wouldn't pay to put their name on his car every week.
And if you want to talk about dumb wrecks, lets see there was the Daytona 500 when Stewart wrecked into Kenseth sending him across the infield...you think that was SMART move?? Junior did NOT wreck Waltrip just to wreck him. As for him not deserving to be in the car, well it is clear that Budwieser doesn't agree with you, they pay BIG bucks to be his main sponsor.
He has won championships....back to back Busch chamionships...or maybe you don't know that the Busch series is part of NASCAR. You seem to be pretty ignorant....you can't even spell his last name correctly.

I guess you call being in the Top 10 not being very good? There mere fact that he made the Chase for the Championship would put him as part of the best in the sport today. It is kind of hard to argue against that.
According to your definition, Mark Martin sucks too. I don't think there is a true NASCAR fans that won't say that he is good.
I'm not a Dale Earnhardt Jr. fan by any means. But I respect the fact that he can go out there and compete. Talk to the media about covering him so much, it isn't all his fault.

I wouldn't say I hate him. It more like I am just tired of him. He is NOT the best thing to ever drive a car and he is NOT his father and people need to realize that. I will admit that he has gotten a lot better as the years have gone on. I don't think he is champion level yet, but I do think he will be. He has grown up a lot in the last couple of years. He just not consentant enough to win the cup yet.
But Iit would be nicefor them to show someone else instead of just him all them time. That drives me so crazy. But he has the last name Earnhardt so everyone thinks he walks on water and can do no wrong. I personally think he is a good driver with the potential to be one of the best. I just want them to back off and let him be Dale Earnhardt Jr and not just the son of a NASCAR Legend.

Although I wouldn't say I dislike Dale Jr., I can see where you are coming from. Dale is famous because he had a famous father who won constantly. Jr. just doesn't seem to be nearly as skilled as his dad. Jr has had good moments, strong leads, and some wins, but he hasn't been very good when it comes to the Nextel Cup series. He drives aggresssively even though he is usually in the back of the pack, and often makes people crash and loose their positions due to his mistakes! I think he's not always paying 100 percent attention when he races, because he makes mistakes often. And because he's not very good, it is annoying to see all those ads with him in it, and having the media pay more attention to him than anyone else. He's a fan favorite out of respect for his father. I guess the fans hope that he will become better someday.

I don't know if you have actually WATCHED any races this season or not, but for a long time Jr. wasn't shown very much during the races. He had been having so much trouble and usually was further back in the race so they didn't focus on him as much. It hasn't been until recently, when he is doing well, that they have taken to noticing him again. I'm guessing you are probably a Tony Stewart fan, you sound just like him. Problem is, the media does the same thing with him. Jr. and Stewart are 2 of the most bankable faces in NASCAR right now. Jr. because of his family name and Stewart because of his championship last year. Just remember, we are a profit driven country and the name that sells, shows. Also remember, for every one of you who hate Jr., there are hundreds that wouldn't hesitate to jump all over you for hating him. Yes, I am a big Jr. fan, but am a NASCAR fan first and foremost.

Um, no.
Just hate the basher's.
All I have to say is,
AMEN, SISTER!!! to Martin Truex's Girl.....I could not have said it better myself. You made some great points and gave one heck of an argument!!!!!
Having been lucky enough to meet many of the drivers, I can say that he is one of the very few that gives a dang about his fans. There are many drivers that will not give you the time of day, sign autographs or even stand still for a 2 second picture.
He is classy, down to earth and a heck of a nice guy.
He has never compared said that he is following in his father's footsteps...if anything, he is trying to get out of that shadow. How would you feel if you were constantly being compared to someone and not given any chance to prove yourself???
Get over it.
Oh, btw, it is Earnhardt, ya dork.

NO. By my screen name you should be able to tell that I don't. How can you hate someone you don't know? It's not his fault the media focuses on him often, sometimes. They also give people like gordon & johnson a lot of attention. He's had some bad luck, if he had better luck in '04 he would've won the championship then. DEI has been giving him good cars lately. Junior is a great race car driver........
Oh, one last thing, are you a gordon fan?
It's Earnhardt, good job spelling........

Dale Jr is a good driver. he deserves to be in that car as much as the next person who can drive a Nascar Car. Now Jeff Gordon is a loser and Nascar dose not need driver like him he is a dirty driver.

i did no longer like it at first. i'm a extensive Earnhardt fan no depend what. So what if his vehicle selection and sponsor replaced, he will nevertheless be a similar racer he's often been. with a bit of luck he can get a win this season with Hendrick. They could no longer shop the #8 for Jr. in view that selection belonged to Theresa and D.E.I BTW...D.E.I is utilising the #8 this season. Mark Martin and somebody else are going to be driving it.

I myself am a Dale Jr fan and I understand that not everyone is going to like him and that's okay. I myself am not a Dale Sr fan but I respect what Dale Sr accomplished on and off the race track. A lot of people are quick to say that they can't stand Dale Jr because of his father but you cannot chose who your parents are. If you could, I think that a number of us would chose different parents. Dale Jr could not help the way that his father was on the race track.
I for one am so sick and tired of people saying that they don't like Dale Jr because he has his father's fans and because of his own fans. I'm sorry but it is not fair to place all of us fans in the same category because we are not all the same. Just because some fans act like idiots, that does not mean that they represent every single one of us.
As for Dale Jr not winning championships you are sadly mistaken. Dale Jr is the 4th driver in the history of the Busch series to win back to back championships. So can throw that he can't win mess out the window. And Dale Jr has won races in the Cup series as well. You'd have to be blind to think that Dale Jr has not won a race. He has won 17 races and 104 top 10 finishes!! Dale Jr also won the 2000 Winston. Mark Martin has not won a Cup series championship so does that make him a horrible driver in Nascar? A number of great drivers in Nascar have yet to win a championship.
And the reason why Dale Jr has been getting so much attention lately is because the Chase just started and he is one of the 10 drivers who made it into the Chase. They've done that since 2004 when the Chase first started. They focus on the top 10 drivers and don't pay attention to the other drivers, only unless they are a big name like Tony Stewart. It is no Dale Jr's fault that the sponsors like him so much. And if you really pay attention you would notice that Kasey Kahne has gotten the most attention out of any driver this entire season. There are more Kasey Kahne commercials and ads than any other driver.
Dale Jr and his entire team have made great improvements from the past couple of years. They are now in the way that they need to be in order to win that championship and they will win the championship. It may not be this season but they will win the championship!! I don't think that a number of people have even noticed but Dale Jr has improved greatly on the tracks that have given him the most trouble. See for yourself:
California - finished 11th
Martinsville - finished 4th
Pocono - finished 14th
Dover - finished 10th
Chicago - finished 5th
Brickyard - finished 6th
As for Dale Jr's wreck with Michael Waltrip last season, that was a racing mistake. Dale Jr admitted and took the blame for what happened. In my opinion, people need to move away from that because Dale Jr and Michael were able to. You don't see Dale Jr still bringing up the fact that two years ago he and Carl Edwards bumped at Atlanta and that Dale Jr wrecked and that cost him a shot at the championship. You don't see Dale Jr bringing up the fact that Dave Blaney pulled the bump-and-run move on him at the second Pocono race this season which caused for him to wreck!!
So many people are so quick to say that Dale Jr is trying to be his father and that is simply not true. Dale Jr is his own person and he certainly is not his father. There will never be another Ralph Dale Earnhardt Sr. You can ask any driver and they will tell you that he is by far one of the cleanest drivers on the track. If Dale Jr causes for a wreck to happen he will go to the other driver and apologize for it. For example, Dale Jr caused for Kyle Petty to wreck. Jr did not do it on purpose as his car got loose and he got into Kyle. But, Dale Jr apologized to Kyle and he also pushed Kyle's car to pit road when Kyle ran out of gas! Mark Martin himself said that Dale Jr was the classiest driver on the field.
You can say what you want about him but you cannot deny that he is a talented driver. How many drivers can say that they came back to the track where they lost their father and won the race that night? Unlike a lot of the drivers Dale Jr has so much pressure on him, he is considered the "legacy" because of his father and grandfather and he has handled it with class. Unlike some he hasn't cracked and broken down under the pressure.
But you know what...if you don't like him then that's fine but there's no reason to sit there and bash the man's integrity.
