Too many conspiracies therfore lots of theories.
Look at this for a conspiracy theory.

The biggest conspiracy theory

The biggest conspiracy theory is that 19 Arabs, who had been under surveillance, conspired together, walked onto four commercial aircraft without being detected, and without having their names appear on a passenger list. Then that they overcame over 250 people with plastic box-cutters. And not only that, but with no previous experience of flying large jets, they navigated from 30,000 feet and hit three out of four targets precisely, meantime conducting flying manoeuvres that fighter pilots would find difficult. Then, the amazing thing is that 7 of them survived the events and are known to be alive today.
Also for the first time ever in history, three, not two, but three steel framed buildings collapsed as a result of fire which could not possibly have burned hot enough to melt steel, and caused the buildings not to topple over, as one might expect, or to fall a little at a time, but to fall within their own footprint at the speed of gravity. And one of those buildings (WTC7) was not even hit by a plane.
Not only that, but the four aircraft disappeared completely without a trace of their 16 large engines, or any of the black boxes. This has also never before happened in history.

This theory is so amazingly full of holes that it is impossible for any sane thinking person to believe, yet that is what the official 9/11 commission report.says.

"We'll know our disinformation program is complete when everything the American public believes is false."
-- William Casey, CIA Director (from first staff meeting, 1981)

All truth passes through three stages. First, it is ridiculed. Second, it is violently opposed. Third, it is accepted as being self-evident.

They are people that are intelligent enough to realize that what is fed to them by the government thru the media is not the truth. We don't know the real truth about 9-11. Even if the administration and military had no wrong doing in the events - the truth would be classified. If there was wrong doing, anyone who knows is either in on it, had their lives threatened or is already dead.

This is not paranoia this is how governments work - esp in the case of a major event and security blunder such as this. You might say "NOT in America!! This is democracy!!!" Well wrong again... we're a socialized representative democratic republic. With 40% voter turn out, and most people who vote are radicals or idiots.

The people that see all this are just trying to makes sense of the events of our world. They may jump to conclusions or take artistic license in some cases but alot of them are solid ground. I'd rather believe them than sit complacently around watching TV and believing what the Media spoon feeds the American people.

Conspiracy theories are started out of denial. For example, no one wanted to believe that an all-powerful leader like JFK could possibly be brought down by a little punk like Oswald. You WANT to believe that it had to have been a whole massive operation -- the CIA involved, Castro involved, the Soviets involved, etc. It seems to be more respectful to JFK to assume that a guy like him could only have been brought down with the help of some massive conspiracy, not just some radical jerk with a shotgun.

That's an excellent question. Was just thinking of that the other day. Frequently when something big happens in the news, such as man landing on the moon, or 9-11, or the Holocaust, it seems somebody has to start denying it. It's usually the paranoid types who distrust the govt & probably have stockpiles of weapons in their basements and garages.
