Real easy. I can tell it to ya in 60 seconds. Got a timer? Cos' I'm a real motormouth. Ready? Here we go!

Bruce Willis as a child psychiatrist gets an unexpected visit from a former patient, now emotionally damaged and seeking revenge. He got shot in a chest and supposedly recovered six months later to see a new patient. The boy (forgot his name) is real jumpy, and claims to see ghosts. Of course, Bruce doesn't see any spirits and we are shown several disturbing POVs of the poor boy who can. Willis gets pissed when his wife starts having an affair. Later, the boy discovers his curse is his gift, acting as a ghost whisperer. Willis is pleased he has successfully treated his patient, and starts to believe in the existence of ghosts too. The mother also patches up with the kid. Unfortunately, poor Brucie discovers that he is a ghost too, when he sees his wife breathing cold vapour. Real sad twist, but touching too.

That's the sixth sense in 60 seconds. Phew!

I don't remember the complete story but I remember being freaked out when I realized that Bruce Willis was a ghost all along & that when the boy said "I see dead people" that Bruce's character was one of them. Then when I looked back at all the scenes he was in, I realized that he was invisible & there was no actual interaction with the people he was around. Only the boy could see him...If you watch the movie again you see all the signs that were there throughout.

Even after seeing that movie, I still got freaked out by "The Others"...An interesting (& very scary) concept to think that ghosts may not realize they're dead as they wander among the living...

Not enough space for the complete story, and an explanation sort of ruins it. But, this boy can see dead people. This intrigues Bruce Willis, then he finally realizes that no one actually sees him except this boy and so Bruce Willis is surprised to learn that he, himself, is dead. The movie is intriguing in a different way when you watch it a second time.

the story goes like this
Bruce, not knowing he was killed by one of this patient, remain wondering in the world. Thus, he always wonder why his wife is ignoring him, also thought that she is having an affair (true in some point).
the boy is a person who is able to see and talk to ghosts. his mother however, did not know of his ability and thought that he is somehow crazy and need a shrine. when trying to cure the boy, Bruce and the boy develop a mutual relationship.
Towards, the end, Bruce realised that he is already dead when he overheard his wife in her sleep. he recalled the incident.
the boy also told his mother about his ability

The little boy can see ghosts and because of that, ghosts go to him for help. Bruce Willis is a psychologist who tries to help the boy. In the end the psychologist realises that he is also a ghost and the boy helped him realise that.

amp has it right.
What I don't get is why the boy didn't tell Willis outright he was a ghost or why he took so long in figuring it out himself - smart man and all.
Wouldn't have been as shocking a climax then I guess.
