I always really liked Spike. He always had that bad boy side, and tried really hard to be good. In the end he did what he felt was the right thing. It helps that he was pretty sexy too.

Willow but I really liked Tara I was pissed that they killed her, but i like all the others aswell so it's hard to decide and my favorite episode is maybe Hush, or Tabula Rasa, Once More With Feeling, Halloween and more and Why because I love Buffy the Vampire Slayer I am even reading the comics, seen the movie and the animated series unaired pilot, and the unaired pilot of the regular series. Also listen to the soundtrack Oh and I also love Dopplegangland and the Wish because I like Vampire Willow and Xander "Bored Now". sorry about the long answer I just really love BTVS.

Spike. He took it upon himself to reclaim a soul...for love. The evolution of that character showed the classic idea of the villain turned relucant hero after realizing that he had the capacity to feel real love. This scenario has basis in ancient legends, like the Sumarian tale of Gilgamesh, where the hero, through an act of kindness gains a friend that fights at his side for many years. The same theme is repeated, although more surreptitiously in the Star Wars saga in the scenes at the climax of Return of the Jedi, where Darth Vader saves Luke skywalker's life.
But, getting back to spike, the character, even after he reclaims the soul is eventually denied the love he sought the soul for, and even with his new found sense of heroism, was still the calssic anti-hero, the one who fights for the side fo good, but doesn't always play by the rules. The character had levels of complexity that belied the simplicity of the original protrayal. The darkness that tempers the light as it were.

Has to be Giles. I mean, the british don't usually get very good characters on American TV but to start one off as a stuffy librarian and then the turns the character has taken? Very cool. And how many people can wear tweed, get a very hot girlfriend, wield a sword and shoot down Dark Willow with green orbs?

Gotta be the bleach-haired awesome-coated slayer-slayer Spike. The ultimate in cool vampirism with a poetic history. If nothing else, he gives hope for those of us who ALSO wrote crap poetry in our younger years, that, given enough centuries, we too might be uber-cool killer monsters who rememer how to love.
After Spike, probably Xander, who's kinda the Peter Parker of the gang - ordinary but still sarcastic and throwing his all into the effort. Courageous despite natural cowardice, and often the generator of the attitude and humour. Xander gives hope to those of us who are utterly ordinary, and don't have centuries to spare in order to get cool...:o)

My all time favorite was Faith because she was betrayed first. Her life was not as easy as Buffy's started out and it even got worst. Before Faith went evil I saw a lot of myself in the character. After I thought it was possible to have trailed down to the evil side myself.

i cant choose between Buffy, Spike and Angel. They are all different and even thoe they have super strength and two of them are vamps they still have proplem like we all do, like love etc.
