Why was the "May" shape of Wileman-Foley-Shelley bone china only made briefly in the 1890's?

That style had only about a two year run, very unusual for the pottery houses of the era. It seems that very few of the Wileman-Foley china in the "May" shape still exist.

Is there an expert in English china who knows why? (Or anyone that just knows?)
