yes but you have to either get it chipped or buy a special CD like DVD Region X, which is software that will let you play any region DVD's.

Sadly not - I've got a UK PlayStation 2, and tons of DVDs as well. It won't play Region 1 DVDs, not unless you can find someone technically-minded enough to mess around with the wires. '_'

howdy X, she did not say something a pair of PS3. All DVDs are region locked, as are all gadgets that play them (DVD gamers, gaming consoles). region a million DVDs would desire to be performed on a region a million (North usa) gadget. region 2 DVDs would desire to be performed on a region 2 (Europe) gadget. not purely that, yet North usa and Europe use 2 diverse video indicators, NTSC for North usa and pal for Europe, so which you won't be waiting to view a region a million DVD on a ecu gadget besides devoid of utilising an HDMI cable, which the PS2 would not have. hassle-free answer on your question: No.

as Mr X said. get a "region x dvd" disc and run it first then you can play any region dvd on your PS2.

no chipping or wiring mods required, just play the disc then put your region 1 film in.
