Is this unusual - we have no objection to alcohol, just don't abuse it. Or is it that I live in a town which is very rough?

I grew up with a large family 6 children and mom and dad. My parents had lots of parties some very large. full bar, dance floor, llights and all. 100 to 150 people at times. I have never seen my parents drunk. I am now over 40 and have gone to bars.dancing with my parents and til this day . They drink but never drunk. My father is very proud of that and so am I.

No that's not unusual, I wish I had never seen my parents drunk so stay sober as not to scar your daughter for life.

I think it is a unusual yes: i know there are people who drink without ever getting drunk (a very good thing), but most people have gotten drunk sometime in their lives.

I think it is unusual, but also a good thing.

I've never seen either of my parents drunk either - I think you deserve credit for being a responsible parent, and behaving in a respectable manner in front of your daughter. '_'

I wouldn't put too much attention to what goes on with other families expressed by their children. We don't want to spend our time judging them. Continue to to search for ways to do the best job for your own and trust that things will turn out best for her. I applaud you in being a concerned parent.

Its a tough road...believe me, I know.

that makes u very good parents, we need more parents like u who do not mess around in front of their kids. do not think u are doing anything wrong, society is so rotten these days that being good and respecting ones self in anyway seems so uncool, why?anyway keep up d good work

It's actually a good thing that you are setting the right example for your daughter. Be proud and maybe she'll follow your example one day!

it might be a little rough town that you live in where kids see what happens behind closed doors.
