Yes and when it happens I run around the house like a crazy person looking all over for it every time and finally when I track it down to that damn 1970's smoke detector I'm like OMG I feel so stupid..
Its funny cause the other day I was at my neighbors house dog sitting and playing the x-box (the game was VEXX) anyway so I'm kicking' butt on this game right and all of a sudden I hear "chirp" "chirp" "chirp" "chirp" I'm finally like AAAAAAAHHHHHHH
I can't take it anymore what is that noise okay so I tear down like 5 smoke detector and finally find it rip the batteries out and I couldn't find any more batteries so I just put it back on the wall with no batt. Hey its not like they don't have like 20 of them all over the house.. so when my friend gets home she like there for like 3 minutes and all of a sudden she goes "hey what happened to the "chirp" that comes from my smoke detector" I"m like uhm I don't know why? she says well it "chirps" every 2 minutes and I have gotten used to it, its done it for like 5 months and I'm thinking this girl is crazy... anyway I am rambling hey is 4:17 am and I am bored OK what else is there to do? sorry OK I'm done with my little story, if you have read this far I am sorry for boring you...

Yes, they are very annoying. I do agree with you. One time I was holding my little boy, about 2 yrs old, and he was reaching his little arms and hands out feeling the clothes, unknown to me, and when we got to a wall, he pushed a burglar alarm. When it went off, it was the most embarrassing and horrible sound , I just took him and ran out of the store.

how about the rubbish truck with the lifter bin,making that comsummated sound lifting the bin (know that sound?) (I might be willing to buy him a new muffler) going apt. to apt. around the block at 5.00 am
