Life's meaning is not fixed and yet it is not lacking. This reveals not the Purposelessness of Life but its Purposefreeness.
In order to see this truth it is first necessary to understand what life is.
Life is Relationship.
Secondly it is helpful to understand what the word 'meaning' means.
In the light of 'Life is Relationship' the word meaning means the process of 'middling', and, it is highly significant to highlight the ending '-ing' as it clearly reveals that 'meaning' is an ongoing process (like life itself it is dynamic).
Thus life's meaning is not fixed and the 'meaning' of life is the living process of how you relate to everything/everyone and how they relate to you. The unfolding result is that your life is the relationship (the middling) of what you mean to others and what they mean to you.
Lastly this means that yes you give your own meaning to life yet you do not live in isolation as everything/everyone else contributes to what life means to you.
In the words of the Buddha this is 'The Middle Way'.
May You be Richly Blessed,
James

No there is no meaning to life if you spend your whole life looking for it, your life will pass you by.
