most states she can fire an employee for any reason or none at all-
and if she files assault charges, it is acceptable in the other states!

She gives him the reason that he either leaves willingly or if he wants to kick up a fuss then she'll involved the police and let him know there is a witness to the assult.
I dont think there should be any problem if theres no contract involved anyway.

Sack the employee on the spot. it is her shop after all, and she does not have to put up with such people. There is no case of difficulty, as she can refuse anyone admission to her premises without reason anyway, and what better reason than the person hit her?
This person must be pretty thick to turn up to work anyway, after what's happened!

she should have dismissed the person on the spot,and she should have reported the incident to the police straight away,if none of the above,sack the person now.
