If you take the Bible literally and believe that they were the only two people on the entire face of the earth. Then there had to be incest. But if you think about it rationally ,and look at the entire story as just being symbolic,or if you read between the lines, logically. Then you realize that there must have been many Adam's and Eve's running around. That's of course if you buy the entire idea in the first place.

The story is told in the book of Genesis, contained in the Torah and Bible, chapters 2 and 3, with some additional elements in chapters 4 and 5. Other details of his life are given in apocryphal books, such as the Book of Jubilees, Life of Adam and Eve and Book of Enoch.
According to the above accounts, Adam was created by Elohim, "in our image." He was then placed in the Garden of Eden. He was instructed to name all the animals, and was given a wife whom he named Eve. He and Eve lived in the garden and walked with God. Eventually, however, they were removed from the garden because they violated God's rule that they could not eat of the tree of knowledge.
After they were removed from the garden, Adam was forced to work for his food for the first time. He and Eve had three children named in Genesis: Cain, Abel, and Seth. The Book of Jubilees names two of his daughters: Azura, who married her brother Seth, and Awan, who married her brother Cain. Both Genesis and Book of Jubilees state that Adam had other children, but those other children are unnamed.

When considering stories from the bible, especially from the old testament, remember those are extremely old & have been translated many times over the ages into many languages. At best they are mostly metaphors for other meanings so don't take every story so literally. Do you really think the first humans on Earth kept records of who their parents were? It's debatable that humans were really here the first week the Earth was formed. Modern science would prove that humans did not come around until many millions of years later, way after the dinosaurs.

When god sent cain out into the land of nod gen 1:16+17 there had to be others, because cain was afraid of them, but god said they would be punished seven fold if etc. gen.3:14-15-16
Bible said Adam and Eve were the "first", not the "only" gen 1:27
It never ceases to amaze me that these simple conclusions have been overlooked by so many for so long.
maybe its because so many have depended on others to tell them and maybe never read the book simply for its beautiful self.

Adam and Eve's children married each other and had children. It wasn't a huge problem back then because they were genetically pure, so you don't get the birth defects that you would get nowadays from incest.

Don't know, but I do know that Adam and Eve were highly recognizable, even if they were still around today. How, you say? They're the only people without belly buttons.---- The Rat has spoken.

See Eve came from Adam's chest bone. In similar way he has got 23 (24-1) rib bones left out. and Kyne has 24 rib bones left out. I think now you have got the answer. ( The womens made of their rib bones are not related to each other(brother-sister).
