Why do they call South Americans and Central Americans "Latinos or spanish" when they aren't?

They do not speak true Spanish and use different words. Example:" American-English" vs. "English" does that make "US Americans" "English" ?

BECAUSE PEOPLE DON'T KNOW THE DIFFERENCE THEY USUALLY CALL THEM ALL MEXICANS, AND THAT'S NOT RIGHT. EVERYONE SHOULD READ ABOUT OTHER PEOPLES CULTURES AND GET EDUCATED.
