Even if there is nothing medically wrong? A little background on me and my reason for wanting to know this...
First of all, every female on my mom's side has had to have one for various reasons including major cramping with heavy bleeding, ect. The only one that didn't have one was my grandmothers twin sister who passed away from ovarian cancer only a few years ago. I have severe cramps, major backaches, "normal" flows and almost always have diarreaha the first day or 2 of my period (sorry for the graphic descriptions). I cannot use tampons so I have to use pads which causes rashes, every month. I am 28 years old, have 2 kids and don't plan on having anymore. Is it possible to have a hysterectomy in my situation or do I have to suffer like my mother and so many other women have??

Your assumption that you have nothing medically wrong is not accurate. You have what is called dysmenorrhea, or some sort of dysfunction associated with your menstrual period, and all the events you describe convince me you have it. So, even though you may not have cancer or anything close, it could probably be justified medically. I would NOT however recommend getting rid of the ovaries just yet. Getting rid of this will age you prematurely, lower your sex drive, and accelerate the development of atherosclerosis, possibly. We won't even mention abrupt surgical menopause. You would have to rely on exogenous estrogen source for decades.

Jaygirl is discussing what is called endometrial ablation, where they cause to disappear the endometrial cavity and it's lining. You may, however still have some degree of cramping/diarrhea with the time that would have been a period, but no more bleeding, and less invasive than hysterectomy.

But you will feel immeasurably better getting that uterus out. I thought of mine like a head of lettuce in the fridge. Leave it in there long enough and it goes bad.

They probably wont give you a hysterectomy at your age but there are lots of other things that can be done. There is a lazer that removes the lining of your uterus and greatly reduces your periods, not sure what it is called but your doctor will know. You could take a contraceptive pill continuously and not get a period at all or the contraceptive injection doesnt give you a period for 6 months at a time. You could probably have a hyterectomy when you are in your 40s if these methods keep your problems at bay for a few years. Good luck.

As a woman you have the right to request a hysterectomy. However most doctors will talk to you and tell you other options before giving it to you and some will refuse to do it.
There are other options that you could try. Like birth control, Like the Depo Parvoa birth control shot will stop you from having a period all together. So that is something to think about.

I doubt it because it can cause a lot more problems then the few you have now but, you can always ask a doctor. If you get rashes from pads and changing brands does not work, you can try using a reausable menstrual cup like a diva cup or keeper. Google should take you to the website for these products.

I couldnt finish your paragraph, its very GRAPHIC.
Anyway, if there is no real medical reason (like excessive bleeding) there will be no hysterectomy.
