There could be many reasons -- frustration at various roadblocks, friends and colleagues not cooperating, etc. Yet I think that the most important quality that is missing in people who give up is GRIT. One must have the attitude to hang on, like climbing Mount Everest.

Children all over the World being abused by sick humans. The story about the Chinese children being snatched and sold made me feel sick to my stomach (I have a child of 21 months). Any parent who has adopted a Chinese baby must now question whether their is a mother somewhere who had her child snatched. Paedophiles, that's another subject that makes me ashamed to be human.
People that are cruel to animals - what's that all about?
There are so many things, I could go on and on!

When i just keep doing things wrong and i can't seem to turn it around. I have fazes like that at work where i just keep making loads of mistakes and can't seem to do anything right and it reaches a point where i just feel like getting my coat and walking out because they'd probably be glad to see the back of me cos then they could hire someone else who could do it so much better than me

The General Teaching Council who won't send me my certificate despite about 5 phonecalls and 2 e-mails over a period of 4 weeks, they say I can't have a letter of proof of my status without paying to join, but I can't work without it, and I don't have to be a member if I'm not working, and I can;t work without my certificate, they should expect a snotty letter in the next few days!

NOTHING!!! it is never that bad if you do hit rock bottom there is only one way to go n thats up. You have gotta keep fighting and working at building your life back together if it all goes pear shaped. then when you do get back on your feet you get a good sense of self satisfaction. (& i do think peple that give up are really weak and obviously dont know there is loads of help for everything nowadays)

listening (ok reading)to apparently non-brain damaged conscious people answer questions about world politics by imitating word for word what they just heard on talk radio or Fox news show.
